Insecurity

2

Poetry about Searching for Identity.

We could spend our whole lives searching
for some kind of Identity.
Trying to figure out
the person in you and me.
At the end of the road,
there was no special message there.
We found out when we finished,
that the answer was always there.

If you want to know who you are,
Stop trying to prove it to everyone.
Know where you’re meant to be,
without forgetting where you’re from.
Keep it simple and keep it right.
You’ve got to feel that peace within.
You can be all that you want to,
just remember the bite of sin.

When you step outside your door,
shake off insecurity.
Stand up straight and smile.
Be who you were made to be.
You were made in God’s image,
not made to follow man’s.
Be better because you want to,
not to make that extra friend.

If you want to know who you are,
Stop trying to prove it to everyone.
Know where you’re meant to be,
without forgetting where you’re from.
Keep it simple and keep it right.
You’ve got to feel that peace within.
You can be all that you want to,
just remember the bite of sin.

Natures Sweet Aroma

5

Poetry about Memories and Nature.

It wasn’t anything special.
It was nature, no extra fluff.
We were just being real.
Walking around, kicking rocks and stuff.
Down in the Gorge.

Just a group of friends,
like a tight knit family.
It could’ve been a lot people,
or just you and me.
Down in the gorge.

Memories, like leaves,
swirling in the wind.
I can still smell that sweet aroma.
Breathe it out, breathe it in.
Down in the Gorge.

Sometimes I still go back
trying to relive those memories.
But it’s just not the same,
if it’s not you and me.
Down in the Gorge.

Memories, like leaves,
swirling in the wind.
I can still smell that sweet aroma.
Breathe it out, breathe it in.
Down in the Gorge.

Relocate my Heart

Poetry about Life and Relationships

Everything here’s the same.
Seems like everyday it rains.
Relationships enough to drive you insane.
So many memories of pain.

Well I think it’s time to move.
Time to make a new start.

I’m looking for life, something better.
I’m in search of that sunnier weather.
It couldn’t be me, the problem is everything else.
It couldn’t be me, I swear.

Well I think it’s time to move.
Time to make a new start.
Or is it just time to just. . .
Time to Relocate my heart.

Burgers

Funny Poetry about Food

I went into my favorite burger joint.
And they said, “What’s it gonna be?”
Well, I went into my favorite burger joint.
And they said, “What’s it gonna be?”
I said, “I don’t have to tell ya, boy,
“You already knew when you saw it was me.”

I like to start with a bun,
nice juicy burger,
don’t cook it too long, boy,
that would be murder.
Lettuce and tomato?
No, a salads not why I stopped by.
Just give me the cheese and bacon
and Jalapenos, the kind that make you cry.

You already know why I came.
That’s my trademark meal.
Ya, you already know why I came.
That’s my Trademark meal.
So don’t ask me no silly questions, boy.
And don’t forget that food discount coupon deal.

I tried to get a drink.
They showed me this crazy machine.
It’s got a thousand options
on a crazy little touch screen.
How do I find what I want?
When there’s so many options to choose from.
I just went straight down the lines
and did a little bit of each and every one.

I went into my favorite burger joint.
And they said, “What’s it gonna be?”
I went into my favorite burger joint.
And they said, “What’s it gonna be?”
I said, “Don’t be funny, boy,
“You already knew when you saw it was me.”

Sparkled Eyes

8

Poetry about Eyes and Love.

You put a Sparkle in my eye.
I stared as you were walking by.
Time seemed to pause for a moment.
My single life gave its last lament.
I knew you’d be mine.

You didn’t try to fight it
because you never saw it coming.
I had an eye for you, love.
You would be slowly succumbing.

And when our eyes met,
I could feel you in my arms.
But no, you weren’t there yet.
As I watched from afar.

If God forced me to be good,
would I really be good?
You can pound a rock,
you can carve wood,
You could press coal
into a diamond,
pushing real hard,
if you could.
But if God forced me to be good,
would I really be good?

Only a miracle
can take water from a stone.
And only a miracle can make me
God’s own.

If God forced me to be good,
Am I “Abel” to not be “Cain?”
Always looking out for myself,
My heart’s a jealous thing.
And sometimes I start thinking crazy
cuz’ I’ve felt so much pain.
But God forcing me to be good?
That’s just insane.

Only a miracle
can take water from a stone.
And only a miracle can make me
God’s own.

Can God force me to be good?
That would be a sight.
But I’m sure, if He could,
He’d do it right.
Not with a whip,
or with a sword.
But with three long nails,
pounded to a board.
You see, God did make me
good one day.
By being so good to me.

Only a miracle
can take water from a stone.
And it took a miracle
to make me God’s own.

Unexpected

I saw you a thousand times
in a time when we were young.
We never felt a spark.
Just living free and having fun.
No one would have thought
That we would feel romance.
But as the music plays and I’m holding you,
There’s one question, while we dance.

What did you expect?
You were stealing my heart.
What did you think would happen
When I saw you step out of that car?
Did you think it would be easy
for me to just walk away?
What did you expect?
When I first saw you with my heart.

A few years went by,
We traveled near and far.
Then, one day, as I walked out the door,
a beautiful women stepped out of a car.
I couldn’t believe when I saw it was you,
I think I heard cupid playing his harp.
Something must have been in the air that day,
cuz’ when I saw you, you stole my heart.

What did you expect?
You were stealing my heart.
What did you think would happen
When I saw you step out of that car?
Did you think it would be easy
for me to just walk away?
What did you expect?
When I first saw you with my heart.

Poetry about Friendship and Relationships

It was the cool summer breeze
in the middle of July.
I was thinking of a time
relationships went awry.
I guess I was distracted.
I was living my own way.
But no matter what we went through
you always stayed the same.

This is to you, my friend,
this is to you.
Time and friendship,
a Loyalty between two.
When you’re up and I’m down,
or you’re down and I’m up.
We’ll always end the
same old way.
This is to you, my friends,
this is to you.

Well it’s been a few years,
seasons have changed,
leaves have turned and
fallen to the ground.
But I picked up my phone,
I gave you a call,
and said,
“How about coming around?”

This is to you. my friend,
this is to you.
Time and friendship,
a loyalty between two.
When you’re up and I’m down,
or you’re down and I’m up.
We’ll always end the
same old way.
This is to you, my friend,
this is to you.
