You, Me and the River.

I remember reaching down from the rock,

it was just you, me and the river.

I would have saved you if i could.
but this is what came from the Giver.

I watched you go your way
as my heart began to simmer.
In a hallowed moment of peace,
it was you, me and the river.

Where can you run away to
when your heart’s beaten down?

Even a king, one day,
must put his crown to the ground.

Well, they say there’s a Savior,
life’s mighty deliverer.
But for now I say goodbye,

just me and the river.

Feeling grief.
