Emptiness

It’s not what you think.

“I woke up,
things were as they’re meant to be.
You were good, you were hot,
Giving me energy.

Overtime,

you slowly cooled.

But I never gave up my promise,
I finished all of you.

But now you’re gone.
Now this cup is empty.
There’s just a dark ring

of what used to be.

You were dark,
so dark and so lovely.
Perfect as you were,
You didn’t need anything sweet.

You had this smell,
a perfume that filled the air.
That smell just takes me back,

reminded me that you were there.

But now I look,
look at this cup so empty.
Just a dark ring
of what used to be.

If I had time.
If I had the time.
I’d make more of you.
I swear I’d make
more of you!

As I look down,
Now this cup is empty.
Just a dark ring
of what used to be.

There’s nothing deep.

This songs about coffee,
and the emptiness you feel
when your last cup is empty.”
