Shelf Sittin

Opened,
Reading,
Pages turn,
now it says it’s page two.

The clock is,
slowly drifting,
feels like an hour,
only been a minute or two.

There’s a truth that I must concede.
I like books but I don’t like to read.
They’re sittin’ on the shelf, they look so good.
One stares back, I don’t read the Bible like I should.

Fast Forward,
Rewind,
Searching for some pages,
That will tell me the whole.

Speed read,
count to three,
Slipped into an ocean,
The clock reached minute three.

The Irony of me is that I have my own blog.
But I read as much as dog.
Books sittin’ on the shelf, they look so good.
One stares back, I don’t read the Bible like I should.
