Floatin’

I’m sitting in my old fold up chair,
watching the ocean as it comes and goes.
Tide’s coming in, my feet getting wet,
Washing the sand off between my toes.

Those crazy birds are running on the beach,
digging holes in the sand to find little fleas.
No one to bother them but, but ole me,
I guess I’ll go for a float in the sea.

Floatin’ on the water,
Not a worry in the world.
Floatin’ on the water,
floating up and down.

I tried to find a few magic seashells
but the sea wouldn’t answer my wish.
So I watched the fisherman and the pelicans
Compete over unlucky fish.

The smell of the ocean and sand dune foliage
with coconut lotion makes me sleep all day.
But if I fall asleep while floating in the sunshine,
I’ll wake up a mile away.

Floatin’ on the water,
Not a worry in the world.
Floatin’ on the water,
floating up and down.

Life’s a lot like floatin’ on water,
up and down as the days go by.
Crazy people running all around me.
I just smile and look at the sky.

Floatin’ on the water,
Not a worry in the world.
Floatin’ on the water,
floating up and down.
