Did you ever want to quit? Run into a situation that just seemed too hard for you? That was me today. But I didn’t give up, and making it through, I feel great now.
When I was in ninth grade, I tried out for the basketball team. I went to the first two trial practices. But I was so out of shape that the practice put my body in excruciating pain after. Long story short, I decided to not finish the try-outs. After the team was picked, my friend came to me and asked why I quit when I was going to make the team. I felt like a total quitter and failure. After that, I’ve had the opposite problem – I don’t know when to quit when I should. That memory so imprinted onto my mind that I have a total, adverse mindset to quitting. Even when I should sometimes quit, I just don’t know how to.
