Dummies

A poem about getting to know someone.

I used to think that you… were a jerk
because last week you didn’t like my work.
Now I’m trash talking you on every comment that I read.
But I might like you if I just wait and see.

What if I just was a neophyte?
What if I realized I wasn’t right?
All the time I’ve been here,
and I’ve been ready to fight.
What if I just was a neophyte?

You didn’t like me because of something that I said.
You didn’t like my poem, now you want me dead!
Well, friend, I ain’t leaving, so you’d better get used to me!
But you might like me if you just wait and see.

What if you just were a neophyte?
What if you realized you weren’t right?
All the time you’ve been here,
and you’ve been ready to fight.
What if you just were a neophyte?

“Hey, whats a neophyte anyways?” “I think it’s some kind of early human.” “No you dummies, it’s a type and kind of rock!” “I think Daily Post just made it up!” “I’m definitely not a Neophyte!”
