Gold

We’re the pirates,
we’re looking for trouble.
If there’s a good time,
our ships are there on the double.
Just don’t ask us to work,
Don’t ask us to think.
Why bother fighting
when our boat could sink!

You thought we were brave,
who says that we’re not?
I once helped an old sailor
tie an anchor knot.
Then, we spent the day,
hammocks in the sun.
If the rope wasn’t tied,
his boat might run!

It’s time to sail the old blue seas,
We’ve overstayed our welcome,
would you take us, please?
We’re dirty, we’re hungry,
mutiny’s on the brink.
Just don’t ask us to fight,
our boats might sink!

I’m back at harbor,
Had to sell my old warship
We loaded up on snacks
at the end of the trip.
But, one day soon,
I’ll do something brave.
I’ll buy back my boat
with gold from a cave!

It’s time to sail the old blue seas,
We’ve overstayed our welcome,
would you take us, please?
We’re dirty, we’re hungry,
mutiny’s on the brink.
Just don’t ask us to fight,
our boats might sink!
